Which thing was created by Brahma, the universe or Earth?

According to Hindu cosmology, Brahma is traditionally credited with creating the entire manifest universe, not just the Earth.

Here’s how it is described in the Puranas and other texts:

  • Brahma is called Srishti-karta (the creator).

  • He emerges from the navel of Vishnu, seated on a lotus.

  • From Brahma’s mind and body come:

    • The heavens (Svarga),

    • The Earth (Prithvi),

    • The underworlds (Patala),

    • The directions, time, living beings, and the Vedas.

So:
🌿 He did not create only Earth.
🌿 He created the entire universe (the cosmic order and worlds).

This is why Brahma is called:
🔹 Jagatpita — Father of the Universe
🔹 Prajapati — Lord of all beings
🔹 Viswakarma — Architect of the world (sometimes also attributed to another deity called Vishwakarma)

In summary:
Brahma created the universe, including Earth as part of that creation.
He is not the creator of Earth alone—Earth is one component of the vast cosmic manifestation.
